Website launched for Next Day Art Licensing

October 17, 2006

Portland, Maine – Next Day Art, a new company founded by James Meserve, an industry veteran with over 10 years in licensing and publishing, announces the launch of a new B2B website designed to allow manufacturers and potential licensees to search art on-line.  www.NextDayArt.com features over 20 new artists and is designed to be easily navigated while helping to promote the artist as a branded property.

The new venture is focused on artist representation, art licensing, publishing and ideation and is keen on putting the artist first.   “We recognize that for many products and categories, the design process begins and ends with the artist and their creations”, states Meserve.  Next Day Art is intent on improving the opportunity for artists and manufacturers to partner in design, art content and product development.

“It is our privilege to share these artists with the world.  Most of the artists we represent have not been licensed before and it is a great opportunity to introduce fresh, new work to our manufacturing partners and licensees,” comments Meserve.

Over the last 10 years, Meserve has managed multi-million dollar licensing/publishing companies that have represented well over 300 different artists and summarized,  “I’ve learned first hand that it is impossible to manage so many artists and do them justice.  It’s simply too many, our goal is to approach the artist relationship on a more hand-on basis while building on more substantial and selective relationships and opportunities with manufacturers”.

Additionally, Next Day Art will share more of the revenue with the artist.  New artists that sign with the company will receive a higher percentage of the royalty stream than most licensing companies are willing to offer.  “We are convinced that a business model of lower overheads, reduced physical infrastructure and a greater reliance on the efficiencies of new technology will allow us to deliver art to the right place at the right time with greater profit – we want the artist to get a bigger piece of the pie- they deserve it,” continued Meserve.

Currently, Next Day Art is soliciting new artists for representation and new submissions should be sent to jim@nextdayart.com.  Next Day Art’s new web site, www.nextdayart.com allows manufacturers, designers and artists to access portfolios, artist biographies and company information.
