Next Day Art to represent Currier & Ives Foundation for Licensing

May 7, 2010

Portland, ME - The Currier & Ives Foundation is pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive licensing representation agreement with Next Day Art, an art licensing company located in Portland, Maine.

The Currier & Ives Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to facilitating education with 19th century artwork at public and private schools and charities across the United States. The Currier & Ives Foundation controls the 'Currier & Ives' trademark with regards to the firms original Lithographic works of art.

According to Scott Currier, Chairman of the Currier & Ives Foundation, "This agreement will help the Foundation further our educational goals while allowing us to control and augment the 'Currier & Ives' brand through a recognized leader in the licensing field."  "We are very pleased to work with a firm that helps so many young artists get recognized, just as Nathaniel Currier did over 100 years ago" continued Currier.

“It is an honor to represent the Currier & Ives collection for licensing and the opportunity to re-introduce their work and leverage the brand on new products is truly exciting,” stated James Meserve, president of Next Day Art.  “The reputation of this iconic brand and the important contributions they brought in sharing art with the masses is consistent with our mission of bringing new art to life,” continued Meserve.

Next Day Art will be exhibiting at the SURTEX show at New York City’s Javitz Center from May 16th through the 18th and will be presenting the Currier and Ives brand along with many new artists.

“Licensed designs from the artists we represent are now found in major retailers and gift stores throughout the country. We find that the better manufacturers compete more on design and less on price and we are happy to be part of that equation,” continued Meserve.

Companies that produce greeting cards, home accents, gifts, wall decor, textiles, collectibles, puzzles, calendars and more count on Next Day Art to source and license art.  Artist portfolios can be viewed on-line or by requesting custom printed portfolios through Next Day Art.  Next Day Art represents more than 60 artists and over 15,000 works of art.
