Since completing an illustration honours degree and diploma from Edinburgh College of Art in 2005, Louise Cunningham set up her own illustration company, Paper Alligator. 26 year old Louise describes her work as bright, bold and quirky. Her portfolio is suited to a wide range of projects - not only covers and jackets for book publishing but also, greetings cards and stationery. In addition, the decorative and whimsical feel of her portfolio is suited for areas of advertising and design such as product and packaging. Her kids and creatures are intended to appeal to both the young and the young at heart. Using a combination of acrylic paint, paper collage and ink, her images are multi-layered and full of energy. As well as completing private commissions, she has been the artist in residence at several primary schools around the UK.
